Valtro PM-5 12 Gauge Magazine-Fed Pump Shotgun (Italian)
The Valtro PM-5 is a rare Italian-built, magazine-fed pump-action shotgun originally developed for military and law enforcement use in the 1980s. Unlike conventional pump guns, it feeds from detachable box magazines, offering significantly faster reloads and a very different handling dynamic compared to traditional tube-fed designs.
Chambered in 12 gauge (2¾” and 3″), the PM-5 combines the simplicity and reliability of a pump-action system with the speed and practicality of magazine-fed operation. With minimal moving parts and a solid, utilitarian design, it’s known for smooth cycling and dependable performance across a wide range of loads.
Typically supplied with 7-round detachable magazines, the platform allows rapid reloads while maintaining the mechanical reliability that pump guns are known for—particularly useful when running lighter loads where semi-autos can struggle.
Originally produced by Valtro (with links to Italian manufacturers like Benelli during its history), these are now scarce on the civilian market and increasingly seen as collector or “left-field PSG” guns rather than mainstream options.
