We aim to keep things straightforward and fair. This policy explains your rights and our approach to returns and refunds across firearms, accessories and other purchases.
1. Overview
This Returns & Refunds Policy applies to all purchases made from Magnum Arms Practical Shooting, whether online or in person.
Your rights may vary depending on the type of product purchased and whether the purchase was made in-store or at a distance (online).
2. Firearms, Shotguns & Controlled Items
Due to the nature of these items and the legal requirements surrounding their sale, the following applies:
Standard Orders
- Deposits are taken to secure items and initiate the transfer process
- Once a firearm or controlled item has been reserved, prepared, or entered into the transfer process, the order cannot be cancelled under standard distance selling rules
- Deposits are non-refundable except where:
- The item cannot be supplied; or
- The transaction cannot legally proceed through no fault of the customer
We understand that circumstances can change. If you are unable to proceed with your purchase, you must contact us as soon as possible.
- Where an item has not yet been transferred, processed, or committed for collection, we may, at our discretion, agree to cancel the order and refund the deposit
- This is not guaranteed and will depend on the stage of the order and any costs already incurred
Please do not assume a deposit will be refunded without prior agreement.
Pre-Orders
Where a deposit is taken for a pre-order (including items not yet in stock or in production), the following applies:
- Your deposit secures your place in the allocation or upcoming batch
- If the item does not arrive with us, cannot be supplied, or is cancelled before delivery, your deposit will be refunded in full
- If the firearm fails proof, is rejected, or cannot be legally supplied for any reason outside your control, your deposit will be refunded in full
Once the item has arrived, been processed, and is ready for transfer or collection, it will be treated as a standard order and the standard deposit terms will apply.
3. Accessories & Distance Sales (Consumer Rights)
For non-controlled items purchased online, your rights are protected under UK consumer law.
You may cancel your order within 14 days of receiving your item without giving a reason.
To exercise this right:
- You must notify us within 14 days of delivery
- You must return the item within 14 days of cancellation
4. Return Conditions
To be eligible for a refund:
- Items must be unused and in original condition
- Items must be returned with original packaging where possible
- You are responsible for return shipping costs unless the item is faulty or incorrect
We recommend using a tracked service, as we are not responsible for items lost in return transit.
5. Refunds
- Refunds will be processed once returned items are received and inspected
- Refunds will be issued to the original payment method
- Please allow a reasonable time for processing and banking clearance
6. Faulty, Damaged or Incorrect Items
If you receive a faulty, damaged or incorrect item:
- Please contact us as soon as possible
- We will arrange repair, replacement or refund as appropriate
- Return shipping costs will be covered where the issue is confirmed
7. In-Store Purchases
Items purchased in person are not subject to distance selling cancellation rights.
Returns or exchanges for non-faulty goods are at our discretion.
8. Failure to Complete Firearm Transactions
Where a customer is unable or unwilling to complete a firearm purchase:
- Deposits may be retained to cover costs incurred
- Storage charges may apply if items remain in our possession
9. Contact
If you wish to return an item or discuss a refund, please contact us before sending anything back so we can assist you efficiently.
