This is a proper 45-70 Big Bore long barrel revolver and a first for the UK
Getting hands-on with the BFR Prototype on our Utah Shooting trip – as at September 2026, we are in the final stages of production, revolvers are being hand fitted and finished and we expect them to ship imminently.
Factory Built Specifically for the UK
This isn’t a one-off custom build or conversion – It’s a collaboration between Magnum Arms and Magnum Research to produce a factory-built, Biggest, Finest, Revolver (BFR) specifically configured for UK compliance – This isn’t something we’ve just sourced – it’s something we’ve been actively working on with Magnum Research to deliver a truly unique and very special Big Bore 45-70 revolver to the UK.
Factory built to meet UK Section 1 requirements from the outset – retaining the strength, balance, and build quality the platform is known for.
The result is a big-bore revolver that feels exactly as it should – beautifully engineered, solidly built, and made to be used, not just looked at.

As said, we’re had the prototype at our private Utah range and it’s exactly what we wanted it to be – a fantastic trigger, great balance, and recoil that’s far better controlled than you’d expect, but it still makes you go “Wow!”
The brace bar is unobtrusive and the slightly longer barrel actually works in its favour, helping tame recoil – and while it’s undeniably big, it’s an absolute pleasure to shoot.
